Markus Schmidbauer was born on February 7th 1986 in Munich, Germany. After graduating High School (Abitur), he started studying Fashion and Design Management at the AMD Akademie Mode & Design in Munich in September 2007. This program of study is based on professional coaches in the subjects of Collection Presentation, Textile Technology, Finance, Business Management and Marketing.
During his time at the AMD he passed two internships to portray his polished skills. He interned at Wolfgang Joop´s Wunderkind in Potsdam, Germany. There he worked predominantly at the Design Department. He also supported Wunderkind’s showroom in Paris and was also a helping hand in preparation for the Prêt-à-Porter Show in March 2009 in Paris.
In 2009 he also interned at Almost Famous in London, UK. His tasks demanded great creativity, organisation and presentation skills. He mainly worked in the PR Department. For the upcoming collection, he used some marketing strategies, preparing the look book and the photo shoot for the Fall/Winter collection 2010/2011.
In Summer 2010 he attended a summer course at Central Saint Martins in London to reach the final skills on how to build a fashion collection.
Markus Schmidbauer graduated from AMD at the beginning of 2011 with a BA in Fashion and Design Management. His final collection at AMD criticised mass products and further described the desire back at square one. Metal, leather, latex and plastic materials dominated the outfits and attracted the attention of Marc Jacobs. He became one of the finalists of Designer for Tomorrow. Therefore he showed his collection at Berlin Fashion Week in July 2011.
His collection ended up a critical success and attracted significant attention to his designs, which have been issued in several international magazines shortly thereafter.
Besides building up Raspberry Cheesecake, he freelanced for Fashion Label Patrick Mohr in 2012. Designing Fall/Winter 2012/13 Men and Women, Prearrangement and Presenation of Projects have been his main tasks at Patrick Mohr. As well as business management and preparing the show at Berlin Fasion Week.
By then he works assiduously and enthusiastic on several projects and collections, committed to quality, modern materials and finishes.
